LARES  VALLEY 4D/3N

the spectacular scenery of the Lares Valley is a must. This remote and rarely visited region offers the trekker an insight into the real lives of the Andean farmer, dressed in their traditional brightly colored ponchos. You’ll have the opportunity to see thatched stone houses surrounded by herds of llamas and alpacas.

Trekking off the beaten path and still visiting Machu Picchu has always been tricky, but the Lares Valley trek offers this rare combination to travelers looking for an authentic Peruvian experience.  Hiking between rugged alpine peaks, passing cobalt-blue glacial lakes and pausing to watch alpacas graze in open mountain meadows, all without another tourist in sight.  This is the way most people envision their trek to Machu Picchu and you can find all this on the Lares Valley trek.

If you're looking to get off the beaten path but don't want to miss out on stellar scenery, then the Lares Valley Trek is an excellent option. In contrast to the popular Inca Trail Trek, the Lares Valley Trek has yet to fully appear on the tourist radar. Trekkers traverse high mountain passes, plunge into sub-tropical valleys rich in intriguing flora and fauna, and weave past tranquil lagoons, natural hot springs and Inca remains.

These fascinating treks offer a first-hand look at the life of the Andean farmer and a journey into a region of outstanding beauty .
